Our Story
Our story begins long before the product was born – in the heart of the bustling markets of North Africa and among the alleys of Mediterranean cities. There, our grandmothers carried with them the wisdom of ancient generations: an intimate acquaintance with medicinal plants, their properties and ways of using them to heal the body and soul, based on the principles of Maimonides' medicine.
In Morocco, Grandma Mimi – the third daughter of Zohra and Yaakov – was not only a beloved matriarch, but also a sought-after healer. She devotedly prepared natural remedies for women, strengthening the womb and giving hope for fertility in a place where modern science had not yet provided solutions. When she arrived in Israel, her home garden in Mevasseret Zion became a thriving garden: full of herbs and medicinal plants, which continued her cultural roots and connection to the Mahane Yehuda spice market, where she got to know the herbalists and traditional merchants up close.
Generation after generation, the unique flavors, smells, and rituals were preserved. For us – the second and third generations – the bitter Sheeh was an inseparable part of childhood: a small but powerful plant that helped with every ailment – from digestion to strengthening the soul. Sometimes we would swallow it wrapped in olive oil, sometimes we bravely faced its bitter taste, and sometimes we would drink tea from the dried leaves.
Today, we seek to bring this magic back into our lives – not just as a sweet memory, but as a bridge between the wise tradition of our grandmothers and the needs of the modern world. With a deep belief that nature, knowledge, and generations of experience can provide true healing, we continue on the path – so that you too can enjoy the healing power of plants.
About Us
We are three siblings, the fourth generation to use Grandma Mimi's Sheeh, who have been dreaming for more than a decade about how to bring the virtues of Sheeh to the entire world. As children and adults, we grew up with Sheeh – it was always there for us, and for our children as well. When our stomach hurt, when the period was heavy, before a flight, with the flu or a cold – we always knew: take Sheeh. When our mother fell ill with melanoma, we saw up close how Sheeh improved her quality of life – and we understood how much real power it has.
Then came the groundbreaking research of Dr. Rivka Ophir, on behalf of the Ministry of Health, which connected all the links for us – from family tradition to modern science. Mimi's Sheeh is the first traditional Chinese medicine formula researched in Israel. We are surrounded by grandmothers, each of whom has accumulated wonderful knowledge, so the journey is just beginning.
Behind the project are: Liza Dankner – the older sister, interior designer and history teacher, who functions as the literary researcher of the project. Eyal Shirazy – CEO of Bizportal and former VP of Digital at the SHLOMO SIXT Group, a plant species researcher for his own pleasure, who functions as a dream come true and examines everything first about himself and his children.
We come from love, faith, and a sense of mission. For us, this is not just a business – it is a life story, a family tradition, and a dream come true.
